about

November 2016 Kåte Klør, then consisting of Harald Harestad, Jon Salthe and Emil Thorsplass, came together to record Kåte Klør´s first series of singles at a local studio in eastern Stavanger. The trio spent three days in Elektrolud Studios, recording six songs back to back, live, only stopping every few hours to breathe and gulp down coffee. The idea was simple: record everything live, overdub vocals (barely) and try to capture the raw energy the band had going for them.

Three singles came out of the ordeal; the evergreen lovesong "La Dagene Gå" and the garagerock & rockabilly stomper "Hippie Robot Østkant Blues" and of course, the debut single and now a immortal classic in the Stavanger-rock cannon, "Skal Du Slå Må Du Drepe".

For your pleasure, it´s a pleasure to present to you "Brostein Boogie EP" a collection of these three singles plus a blistering cut of "Javel" a staple in todays live set and captured here in it´s original punk-rock garb after undergoing acoustic surgery for the "Javel EP" and Kåte Klør´s first album "Pessimistopia".

For Kåte Klør historians this Bandcamp exclusive release marks the beginning of the band, serving as Chapter One of the band´s recording history, almost a full three years ahead of recording their debut EP, the aforementioned "Javel EP" which was released in 2019. Four songs, still to this day being in demand in Kåte Klør´s liveshows, over half a decade since their release, yours to have and to stream, for ever and ever.

about

Kåte Klør Stavanger, Norway

Norwegian garagerock project fronted by Harald Harestad, Kåte Klør, released its debut album in 2021. Fuzzed out guitars, blown out drums, sketchy synths and snarling lyrics join forces to make negative emotions danceable, moshable and nodding-headable, whilst making light of love, loss and living your life in a post-modern soda fountain. Kåte Klør´s last album came out 2023. ... more
